The wait is finally over! The first single from Old Dominion’s sophomore album is finally here, and as expected, it does not disappoint! No Such Thing As A Broken Heart is the perfect feel-good love song that is here just in time for warmer weather (sorry East Coasters).
The song has a great message about enjoying love’s journey and not worrying too much about the destination. Broken hearts are far from fun, but the band’s catchy wording and excellent production by none other than Shane McAnally make for a positive happy-go-lucky tune! And just like every other Old Dominion song, this one is bound to get stuck in your head over and over again (not that I’m complaining).
You know you can’t keep the ground from shaking, no matter how hard you try
You can’t keep the sunsets from fading, you gotta treat you love like
You’re jumping off a rope swing maybe cause the whole thing is really just a shot in the dark
You gotta love like there’s no such thing as a broken heart.
We’re still waiting to hear when the album will be announced, but if the entire album is anything like this single, or the few songs that they teased on tour, it’ll definitely be on repeat for weeks!
