KNIX Secret Show at Livewire in Scottsdale

KNIX brought their Secret Show back for round two, this time at Livewire! With the first show’s big reveal being Jason Aldean, we knew were in for another big surprise. After waiting in the rain for hours, the suspense was unreal.

The show started with up and comers Runaway June who are best known for their new single “Lipstick“. The band consists of Naomi Cooke, Hannah Mulholland, and Jennifer Wayne (who happens to be the late John Wayne’s granddaughter!). Even they didn’t know who the Secret Show artist was! They performed a handful songs which gave me a Pistol Annies vibe and I’m excited to hear more from them in the future.

Then it was time for the main event. There was chatter throughout the small, intimate venue about who could be walking out on the stage any minute. We were greeted by Tim, Ben, Brooke, Barrel Boy and The Antman and then they revealed that Darius Rucker was the Secret Show artist!

The room erupted with cheers and screams as he hit the stage. He even made a joke about how he was hoping the artist was Keith Urban. The energy was up throughout the night as Darius sang all of his biggest hits like “This”, “Alright”, “If I Told You”, “Homegrown Honey” and “Wagon Wheel”. He also surprised the crowd with covers of Garth Brooks’ “Friends In Low Places” a fun rendition of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” and Prince’s “Purple Rain”. Darius is a great performer, and if you haven’t seen him before, I highly suggest you buy a ticket next time he is in town!

Overall it was a fun show and KNIX did a great job at choosing yet another intimate venue for their fans to have the ultimate experience. We are looking forward to see if the Secret Show will be back for a threepeat and who KNIX will surprise us with next!
